2025 3rd ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE, COMMUNITY FESTIVAL & WREATH-LAYING CEREMONY

YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE, CHEER & SPONSOR!

Join Your Neighbors in Honoring the Fallen!

We hope you're excited about our Third Annual event!  The first event’s popularity blew us all away, making headline news as well as local TV, and last year’s event was even bigger! Well… this year, we have even more interest with multiple organizations signing-up to march, get a community booth, and volunteer so we’re guessing an even bigger crowd along the route! In partnership with Larchmont United Methodist Church and Saint Patrick Catholic School, and with the generous support of our vital sponsors, we have an exciting and appropriate event planned for Monday May 26th, from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.  Former Mayor Paul Fraim is this year's Grand Marshal, and he'll lead the parade which starts at St. Patrick Catholic School and ends at LUMC with a community festival, including music, free food/drinks, and an opportunity to meet neighbors before Summer starts. (Parade route in graphic at the bottom of this page.) THEN, and most importantly, we have a very brief and moving 11:15 Wreath-laying Ceremony to honor the fallen with some fitting comments, a bugler playing Taps, and a Bagpiper walking away to end the event.

Event Participants, include (thus far!):

Former Mayor Paul Fraim - Grand Marshal

Mayor Kenny Alexander

Multiple elected Commonwealth leaders, City Council Members & Senior City Leaders

Tidewater Pipes & Drums

Maury High School NJROTC

Cape Henry Model A Car Club & Other Classic Cars

Daughters of the American Revolution

Sons of the American Revolution

Scouts & Cub Scouts

Two local neighborhood school student groups (marching/biking)

Norfolk Fire Department

Norfolk Police Department

Norfolk Public Library Bookmobile

US Fleet Forces Navy Band – Bugler for the wreath-laying ceremony, expected

And more, pending final confirmation!

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Sponsorship Pricing & Benefits

We’re again offering a flat rate single level sponsorship of $150.00.  This is an opportunity to directly support and affiliate with a fun 1.2 mile community parade that fittingly ends with a respectful and moving Memorial Day wreath-laying honors ceremony - the main event really.   This will be memorable for the young and old who will be marching, neighbors viewing from their front yards, spectators cheering along the route, and for the sponsors who are backing it all.  Proceeds go towards event costs (E.g. off-duty traffic control support, traffic cone & porta-pottie rentals, signage, etc.).

As a sponsor this year, you will also receive:

- Larchmont Edgewater Civic League social media mentions

- Posting of your business or organizational logo on our civic league website

- Civic League Newsletter recognition

- Logos (or names) displayed on a large banner that will be displayed at both the parade start, carried throughout the parade, and posted again for all to see during the festival and ceremony.

- The opportunity to affiliate with this incredible event, and our sincere gratitude for your much-needed support

The cut-off date for getting your sponsorship name printed on the parade banner is Friday, May 16th at noon.  (You can still donate after that and get the social media, website, and newsletter audiences.)
